A Curved Front with Neo-Classical Columns

Unlike a plain rectangular counter, the RD27 has a gently convex, D-shaped front that bows toward the client. Each end of the counter rises into a tall, carved column with classical fluted, acanthus-style molding that extends above the work surface. Those columns frame the desk like a piece of architecture and lift the whole silhouette well beyond its 105 cm counter height, giving the reception point a stately, welcoming presence.

The result is a desk that reads as decorative furniture rather than a functional box — exactly the first impression a luxury salon wants to make at the door.

Cream-White High-Gloss Lacquer

The entire piece is coated in a warm cream-white, high-gloss lacquer. The surface is smooth and reflective, catching the light softly across the curved front and the counter top so the desk looks polished and expensive. Cream white is easier to style than a stark bright white — it pairs naturally with gold, plum and marble accents and keeps a salon interior feeling warm rather than clinical.

The Jewelled Plum Tufted Panel

Set into the curved front is the desk's showpiece: a large upholstered panel in deep plum / magenta fabric, worked in diamond tufting with a sparkling crystal button at every intersection. Against the cream-white lacquer, this jewelled panel is a bold, glamorous contrast that immediately signals a high-end, decorative space. It is the single detail guests notice first as they approach the counter.

Real Storage Behind the Glamour

The desk is as practical as it is pretty. On the staff side, the upper section holds two side-by-side drawers fitted with ornate crystal-and-silver pull handles that echo the buttons on the front panel. Below them is an open shelf and a lower storage cavity — room for the appointment book, card reader, retail stock, tools and the everyday clutter that needs to stay out of the client's sightline. Everything the front-desk team needs is close at hand while the guest-facing side stays flawless.

Built on MDF, Finished by Hand

The desk is constructed on an MDF (medium-density fiberboard) core, which is ideal for this design: it shapes the curved front cleanly, gives a dense, uniform surface for the carved column detailing, and holds the multi-coat gloss lacquer far more evenly than open-grain solid wood — so the finish stays smooth and the reflections stay crisp across the whole piece. In the standard 150 cm length the desk packs to 158 × 60 × 122 cm and weighs about 93 kg.
